Maura OConnor
Maura O’Connor grew up in a suburb of Chicago playing soccer, dancing, singing in accapella group, performing in musicals, and annoying her two older sisters. She went to Northeastern University where she received both her Bachelors in Rehabilitation Science and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She found her love for craft beers while working at Sam Adams Brewery as well as running while training for multiple marathons, including the Boston Marathon. She trained further in Chicago with a focus on manual and orthopedic therapy and in Boston with a focus on vestibular therapy. She came to Maui on recommendation of fellow therapist Alyssa, and you will find her up in the mountains trail running & hiking, or in the water paddle boarding & scuba diving.
Ted Anderson
Ted Anderson grew up riding horses, hiking trails, and fishing outside Sacramento, California in Folsom and Placerville. He went to Santa Clara University where he found his two loves, his wife and healthcare. While working in the Athletic Training Room, he treated internationally ranked soccer players. Ted was accepted at Marquette University where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He trained further at Stanford and the Palo Alto VA in Spinal Cord Injury. He came to Maui to start his family and this practice. When not joking in the clinic, he is either at on the beach, performing Standup Comedy, and chasing his three moderately adorable children. He also serves on the Board at Maui Adult Day Care Centers and provides transfer training and fall prevention courses throughout the state.
Alyssa Fusco
Alyssa Fusco was raised in Southbury, Connecticut where she enjoyed running track, skiing and working as a paraprofessional to assist children with disabilities. Out of high school, she was accepted into Northeastern University’s Physical Therapy program in Boston where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. While at Northeastern, Alyssa enjoyed exploring Boston while attending concerts with her friends and running half marathons. She found her passion for Neurological PT while interning at Tufts Medical Center with patients who had experienced Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Tumors, and Progressive Neurological Diseases. She was able to further her training during an internship here on Maui at Venture PT. She enjoyed beautiful Maui and the Venture PT staff and patients so much that she decided to stay. Here on Maui, Alyssa enjoys paddling Outrigger Canoe, hiking to waterfalls, and playing recreational soccer.
Teddy Zabel
Teddy Zabel grew up playing sports, riding snowmobiles, and cutting down trees in a small town just outside of Syracuse, New York. He went to Ithaca College where he majored in Business Administration. Teddy injured his shoulder while playing football at Ithaca, and through that injury discovered his love for rehab medicine. After completing his undergraduate studies Teddy moved south to pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of North Carolina. He furthered his education at Fort Bragg's Intrepid Spirit Center treating soldiers with traumatic brain injuries and concussions. After finishing his formal education, he followed in his brothers footsteps and moved to Maui. When not in the clinic Teddy can be found surfing, paddling, hiking, or CrossFitting. Teddy also performs free functional movement screens at various gyms around Maui!
Liz David
Liz David was born and raised in the Bay Area of Northern California. She moved down to Southern California to attend University of California, Irvine where she earned a double major in Sociology and International Studies. In college, she spent most of her time either going to concerts, musicals, or Disneyland. In her last year of college, she discovered her passion for physical therapy after working at various outpatient PT facilities as a PT aide. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy at University of St. Augustine in Northern San Diego County. During PT school and throughout her internships, she developed a strong interest for working with the geriatric and neurologic population. She also fell in love with the Hawaiian culture after an internship in Oahu. She felt right at home in Hawaii, so she knew she had to move back. She was given the opportunity to move to Maui after graduating to join the Venture Physical Therapy Team. She became a Certified Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy in 2017. When not in clinic, Liz loves exploring all the islands with her husband, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, and dancing hula.
Jennifer Chiemi Ban
Jennifer Chiemi Ban (everyone calls her by her middle name – Chiemi) was born and raised on Maui. Chiemi graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA in Liberal Studies in 1993. While at UH, she volunteered at the Rehab Hospital of the Pacific where she discovered occupational therapy. She received her Occupational Therapy degree in 1997 from Colorado State University. She has worked in the acute, SNF, and outpatient settings on Kauai and Hilo. After moving back to Maui in 2002, she worked for Hale Makua Rehab Services until 2010, where she met Ted and then began her adventure at Venture Physical Therapy. Chiemi enjoys working with people of all ages, with focus on geriatric and neuro/stroke population. Her husband, 3 children, and dog “Momo” keep her happily busy when she is not at work. Chiemi enjoys traveling, studying, applying the wisdom of Soul and Tao teachings with the Institute for Soul Healing and Enlightenment.
Daniel Yang
Daniel Yang was raised in Bakersfield, California where he enjoyed participating in Judo, skateboarding, and weight lifting. He moved to La Jolla, California where he attended University of California, San Diego and earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology. While living in San Diego, he spent his time going to the beach, paddling dragon boats, and attending concerts. After a year of working in a lab, he decided he wanted to interact with patients to help improve health and fitness. Daniel attended University of St. Augustine for Health Science in North County San Diego where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During his internships, Daniel discovered his interest with working with orthopedic and sports populations. After working in California for the first couple years of his career, he moved to Maui to work at Venture Physical Therapy and discovered his love for the island of Lana'i. When Daniel is not working, he enjoys riding bikes, paddling outrigger canoe, and archery.
Ann Anderson
Ann Anderson attended and graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts. She moved with her husband Ted to Milwaukee so he could finish his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and then back to CA to complete her Master’s of Public Health at University of San Francisco. Ann then moved to Maui in 2008 with the family, and soon began Venture Physical Therapy with her husband Ted. Ann is responsible for the behind the scenes work that keeps the company running and doing the billing at home all while taking care of their three daughters and their fourth child, an Olde English Bulldogge, Snots. Ann likes to spend her time taking adventures with her husband and daughters to the beach or Ocean Center and taking the girls to all their extra-curricular activities while simultaneously running the company.
Felicia Chernicki-Wulf
Felicia Chernicki-Wulf was born and raised dancing and adventuring north of Sacramento in Yuba City, California. She went to Sierra College where she earned her degrees in Social and Behavioral Science and Arts and Cultures. She was presented with the opportunity to move to Maui in 2006 and arrived in her new home having never before been to Hawaii. Here, she fell in love with veterinary medicine, social dancing, and her husband, Jason. She met Ted and Ann while treating their dog, Snots, and formed a friendship. After 10 years as a veterinary technician, Ted presented her with the opportunity to transition into human medicine and join Team Venture. When not in the clinic, she can be found singing, acting, and dancing on many of Maui's stages. She and her husband continue to love dance and theater, and enjoy traveling, spending time in the water with their 2 dogs, hiking, and canyoneering.
Alexa Panabaker
Alexa Panabaker grew up playing sports and dancing in Fresno & Madera, California. She is currently attending Maui Academy of Healing Arts Massage School where she enjoys digging her elbow into people’s backs and studying anatomy. She enjoyed Maui most of her high school summer breaks, fell in love with Maui (like everyone else who moved on island) and once she graduated from Golden Valley School District at Liberty High School in '14 she decided to move to Maui. She loves Maui because of the culture, 'ono grinds, plants, and mo'olelo from kupuna. In Alexas free time she enjoys going to Maui's breathtaking beaches & valleys. She also is a taro patch farmer in Waikapu Valley with her other half Kai'ohu, his three beautiful kids Kukui, Kai'ohu, Kamaile, & two fur babies Bubbles and Hawaiian. She joined the Venture Ohana in October 2017 and enjoys working as their receptionist and soon to be staff massage therapist.
Chantelle Cardenas
Chantelle Cardenas was born and raised on this beautiful island, Maui. She has been employed with Venture Physical Therapy for 6 years, starting as a Front Desk Assistant and now the Billing Assistant for the company. Outside of work, Chantelle is a busy mother to her 4 wonderful children Joshua, Bryson, Chayson and Jacelyn. Chantelle enjoys art and crafts, listening to music, spending time at the beautiful beaches and camping.
Jessika Smith
Jessika Smith grew up on the coast of Maine where she was very active in her church youth program and other civic groups where she spent most of her younger years excelling in athletics. She also developed a love of nature through spending a lot of time hiking and on the lakes, rivers, and the ocean. She continues to enjoy these same aspects of Hawaii and explores her surroundings as much as she can. In her spare time, she enjoys stand up paddle boarding, gardening, disc golf, and participating in stewardship activities. She also has a deep appreciation and adoration for crafting, art, and live music. The University of Maine in Orono is where she earned her degrees in Child Development and Adolescent Psychology.

After graduation she had various jobs in the social work realm that eventually lead her to become a case manager for those with severe mental health and/or physical disabilities. This allowed her to hone skills in healthcare coordination, which is what first brought her to Lana’i City in 2011. Jessika then met and worked collaboratively with the Venture Physical Therapy team when they first began servicing the island of Lana’i in 2012. Venture Physical Therapy opened their Lana’i City clinic in 2016 and shortly after that she joined the VPT team as the Office Manager of the Lana’i location. In addition to her full-time status with VPT Jessika continues to work on a part-time basis with disadvantaged youth and families.

Lanie Williams
Lanie Williams was born and raised in a northern suburb of Dallas and grew up as a competitive cheerleader, traveling and playing with her beloved puppies. She attended Texas Woman's University where she received both her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's of Occupational Therapy. While in college, she traveled the globe and learned how to say thank you in 35 different languages. Throughout her internships, she found a passion for mental health and forensics at a psychiatric hospital in Texas. She continued her training at our very own, Venture PT. She loved the Venture Ohana so much, she decided to move to Maui and join the family. Here on Maui, Lanie enjoys playing with random dogs on the beach and trying not to take them home.
